Virtual Holiday Run - Tis The Season To Run With Everyone
Grab Your Runner Bib and Donate to Local Organizations with other USA Runners
LONG ISLAND, NY, December 12 – Coming to a city near you - a new concept know as "Virtual Running" can benefit yourself, the local community, and even keep you out of the cold!
From the team that created World Run Day - a November running event where runners run wherever they live and donate to their favorite charity - comes a calendar full of virtual run events for every month. Next weekend is the "Virtual Holiday Run" created for people to get out, create their own run course or step on the indoor treadmill, to stay fit. The other component of this event is to donate to your favorite local charity - whatever amount you can give in the "spirit of the holidays". The Virtual Turkey Trot, held this past Thanksgiving brought out runners of all skill levels donating to local Food Pantry's and other organizations across the USA. Call your friends, family and other runners across the USA to be part of the day.
During Registration at www.active.com you select your distance, provide an inspirational message, and submit your charity name and donation amount. You write the check directly to the charity or thru a donation link to assure that 100% of the donation goes to your charity.
Afterwards, you'll be listed on the runday.com web site with your own "spot on the map" of USA runners participating in the event. You'll also be mailed the World Run Day 2011 Event T-shirt and automatically registered for the event. It's as simple as that. Just get running.
